Sports, Fitness and Recreation
These are some of the key programs offered at Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sequoias within the Sports, Fitness and Recreation Core Program Area.
Triple Play: Through the Triple Play experience, local Boys & Girls Clubs challenge members to become healthy and active by learning new ways to manage stress, improve their physical fitness through regular physical activity and competitive sports leagues, building both their positive social skills and character.
Royal Crown Archery: The Royal Crown Archers is a Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) p
rogram. The JOAD program is open to children up to the age of 18, and adults and is designed to introduce athletes to the sport of Olympic style target archery. Chartered by the National Archery Association and the United States Olympic Training Center, our JOAD program follows the FITA shooting guidelines and equipment rules just as the NAA does. The JOAD program has taken our members to participate in local, state, regional and national level tournaments and the Olympics.
Gameroom tournaments are run on a daily basis and members have the opportunity to compete in annual gameroom tournaments. In addition, we offer a variety of low-organized sports and games, run in the Clubs' gymnasiums. Each Club hosts a variety of dances, special events, and holiday activities throughout the year, all of which are part of the social recreation department.
