Our Featured Staff Member: Kristy Galvan

WE WOULD LIKE TO RECOGNIZE KRISTY GALVAN, WHO HAS BEEN ON OUR TEAM FOR 3 YEARS NOW! KRISTY IS CURRENTLY THE LEAD PROGRAM STAFF AT THE GINDICK (VISALIA) BOYS & GIRLS CLUB.

Her role as a program lead is to assist her director with any needs regarding staff and members.

Kristy is an exemplary staff member. In her programs, she prioritizes being kind, having fun, and staying respectful to others. She is inspired to work for the Club because she sees the positive impact made in the lives of kids everyday through activities and resources. Kristy personally makes a difference in the lives of youth by being a mentor and helping shape them into respectful, well-rounded young adults.

Kristy explained, “My passion for youth has come from my own experiences of when I was a youth myself. I did not have a safe environment, nor mentors to look up to growing up. Being a part of an organization that makes it their mission to always have a safe environment and positive mentors for our youth is something I will always be proud of. I am passionate about being a part of the change I want to see for our youth everyday. Additionally, I enjoy having a leadership role because no matter the circumstance staff and members can feel confident in me to guide them to the best of my abilities.”

During COVID-19, Kristy has been busy calling our families, helping organize educational packets, and starting a Zoom program. “These experiences with our members while social distancing have lifted my spirits and have reminded me of what our mission at the Boys & Girls Club really means,” said Kristy.
